Overland Park-based Prime Capital Financial’s latest acquisition allowed it to launch a new subsidiary.
Prime Capital Financial acquired Harman Wanzor McNamara LLP (HWM) in Fort Worth, Texas. Founded in 2014, HWM has 40 employees and brings experience in tax planning, compliance, accounting and business advisory.
HWM was a client, with Prime Capital Financial providing retirement plan consulting, Prime Capital Financial CEO Glenn Spencer said. The two firms referred clients to each other for years.
“We’ve seen what a high quality advisor they are,” Spencer said. “They obviously do all the tax preparation and returns, but they lead with advice. We really wanted a firm that led with advice but also provided full tax services to our individual wealth management clients. So we started talking to them in the spring, and this just ended up being a perfect fit for us.”
